My doctoral research centers on how comedians of color use their performances to assert a perpetually denied humanity. Through close reading the works of comedians like Dave Chappelle and Aparna Nancherla, I highlight the importance in humor in inverting power dynamics and empowering those who are marginalized.

The Comedy Collective was formed for undergraduate and graduate students to come together to build community through the creation and consumption of all things comedic. Consisting predominately of students of color, members used their lived experiences as fodder to write, perform, and edit our own original sketches, some which are featured here.

As a creative, I enjoy expressing myself in various mediums. Here are a few of my projects.
